BNV : ইলীশায় বললেন, “প্রভুর বার্তা শোন! প্রভু বলেন: ‘আগামীকাল এ সময়ের মধ্যেই শমরিয়া শহরের ফটকগুলোর পাশের বাজারে এক টুক্রি মিহি মযদা অথবা দু টুক্রি য়ব কেবলমাত্র এক শেকল দিয়ে কিনতে পাওয়া যাবে|”‘
KJV : Then Elisha said, Hear ye the word of the LORD; Thus saith the LORD, To morrow about this time [shall] a measure of fine flour [be sold] for a shekel, and two measures of barley for a shekel, in the gate of Samaria.
YLT : And Elisha saith, `Hear ye a word of Jehovah: thus said Jehovah, About this time to-morrow, a measure of fine flour [is] at a shekel, and two measures of barley at a shekel, in the gate of Samaria.`
RV : And Elisha said, Hear ye the word of the LORD: thus saith the LORD, Tomorrow about this time shall a measure of fine flour be {cf15i sold} for a shekel, and two measures of barley for a shekel, in the gate of Samaria.
RSV : But Elisha said, "Hear the word of the LORD: thus says the LORD, Tomorrow about this time a measure of fine meal shall be sold for a shekel, and two measures of barley for a shekel, at the gate of Samaria."
ASV : And Elisha said, Hear ye the word of Jehovah: thus saith Jehovah, To-morrow about this time shall a measure of fine flour be sold for a shekel, and two measures of barley for a shekel, in the gate of Samaria.
ESV : But Elisha said, "Hear the word of the LORD: thus says the LORD, Tomorrow about this time a seah of fine flour shall be sold for a shekel, and two seahs of barley for a shekel, at the gate of Samaria."
ERVEN : Elisha said, "Listen to the message from the Lord! The Lord says: 'About this time tomorrow, there will be plenty of food, and it will be cheap again. A person will be able to buy a basket of fine flour or two baskets of barley for only one shekel in the marketplace by the city gates of Samaria.'"

BNV : রাজার ঠিক পাশেই য়ে সেনাপতি ছিল সে বলে উঠল, “প্রভু যদি স্বর্গে ছেঁদা করার ব্যবস্থাও করেন, তাহলেও আপনি যা বলছেন তা ঘটা অসম্ভব!”ইলীশায় বললেন, “সম্ভব কি অসম্ভব তা তুমি নিজের চোখেই দেখতে পাবে| তবে তুমি ঐ খাবার ছুঁতেও পারবে না|”
KJV : Then a lord on whose hand the king leaned answered the man of God, and said, Behold, [if] the LORD would make windows in heaven, might this thing be? And he said, Behold, thou shalt see [it] with thine eyes, but shalt not eat thereof.
YLT : And the captain whom the king hath, by whose hand he hath been supported, answereth the man of God and saith, `Lo, Jehovah is making windows in the heavens -- shall this thing be?` and he saith, `Lo, thou art seeing it with thine eyes, and thereof thou dost not eat.`
RV : Then the captain on whose hand the king leaned answered the man of God, and said, Behold, if the LORD should make windows in heaven, might this thing be? And he said, Behold, thou shalt see it with thine eyes, but shalt not eat thereof.
RSV : Then the captain on whose hand the king leaned said to the man of God, "If the LORD himself should make windows in heaven, could this thing be?" But he said, "You shall see it with your own eyes, but you shall not eat of it."
ASV : Then the captain on whose hand the king leaned answered the man of God, and said, Behold, if Jehovah should make windows in heaven, might this thing be? And he said, Behold, thou shalt see it with thine eyes, but shalt not eat thereof.
ESV : Then the captain on whose hand the king leaned said to the man of God, "If the LORD himself should make windows in heaven, could this thing be?" But he said, "You shall see it with your own eyes, but you shall not eat of it."
ERVEN : Then the officer who was close to the king answered the man of God. The officer said, "Even if the Lord made windows in heaven, this could not happen." Elisha said, "You will see it with your own eyes, but you will not eat any of that food."

BNV : শহরের প্রবেশদ্বারের কাছে চার জন কুষ্ঠরোগে আএান্ত হয়েছিল| তারা একে অপরকে বলল, “এখানে আমরা না খেযে শুকিয়ে মরছি কেন?
KJV : And there were four leprous men at the entering in of the gate: and they said one to another, Why sit we here until we die?
YLT : And four men have been leprous, at the opening of the gate, and they say one unto another, `What -- we are sitting here till we have died;
RV : Now there were four leprous men at the entering in of the gate: and they said one to another, Why sit we here until we die?
RSV : Now there were four men who were lepers at the entrance to the gate; and they said to one another, "Why do we sit here till we die?

ERVEN : There were four men sick with leprosy near the city gate. They said to each other, "Why are we sitting here waiting to die?

BNV : শমরিয়ায তো একদানা খাবারও নেই| শহরে গেলেও আমরা মরব, এখানে থাকলেও মারা পড়ব| তার চেয়ে চল অরামীয়দের তাঁবুর দিকে যাওয়া যাক| ওরা চাইলে আমরা বেঁচেও য়েতে পারি, আর নয়তো মরতে হবে|”
KJV : If we say, We will enter into the city, then the famine [is] in the city, and we shall die there: and if we sit still here, we die also. Now therefore come, and let us fall unto the host of the Syrians: if they save us alive, we shall live; and if they kill us, we shall but die.
YLT : if we have said, We go in to the city, then the famine [is] in the city, and we have died there; and if we have sat here, then we have died; and now, come and we fall unto the camp of Aram; if they keep us alive, we live, and if they put us to death -- we have died.`

ERVEN : There is no food in Samaria. If we go into the city, we will die there. If we stay here, we will also die. So let's go to the Aramean camp. If they let us live, we will live. If they kill us, we will just die."

BNV : কথা মতো সেদিন বিকেলবেলা কুষ্ঠরোগীরা অরামীয়দের তাঁবুতে গিয়ে উপস্থিত হল| তাঁবুর কাছাকাছি এসে ওরা দেখল, ধারে কাছে কেউই নেই!
KJV : And they rose up in the twilight, to go unto the camp of the Syrians: and when they were come to the uttermost part of the camp of Syria, behold, [there was] no man there.
YLT : And they rise in the twilight, to go in unto the camp of Aram, and they come in unto the extremity of the camp of Aram, and lo, there is not a man there,
RV : And they rose up in the twilight, to go unto the camp of the Syrians: and when they were come to the outermost part of the camp of the Syrians, behold, there was no man there.

ERVEN : So that evening the four lepers went to the Aramean camp. When they came to the edge of the camp, no one was there!

BNV : প্রভুর মহিমায, অরামীয় সেনাবাহিনীর লোকরা বাইরে রথবাহিনী, ঘোড়া-টোড়া নিয়ে বিশাল এক সেনাবাহিনীর এগিয়ে আসার আওয়াজ শুনে ভেবেছিল, “নিশ্চয়ই ইস্রায়েলের রাজা হিত্তীয় আর মিশরীয রাজাকে আমাদের সঙ্গে যুদ্ধ করার জন্য ভাড়া করে এনেছে!”
KJV : For the Lord had made the host of the Syrians to hear a noise of chariots, and a noise of horses, [even] the noise of a great host: and they said one to another, Lo, the king of Israel hath hired against us the kings of the Hittites, and the kings of the Egyptians, to come upon us.
YLT : seeing Jehovah hath caused the camp of Aram to hear a noise of chariot and a noise of horse -- a noise of great force, and they say one unto another, `Lo, the king of Israel hath hired against us the kings of the Hittites, and the kings of Egypt, to come against us.`
RV : For the Lord had made the host of the Syrians to hear a noise of chariots, and a noise of horses, even the noise of a great host: and they said one to another, Lo, the king of Israel hath hired against us the kings of the Hittites, and the kings of the Egyptians, to come upon us.

ESV : For the Lord had made the army of the Syrians hear the sound of chariots and of horses, the sound of a great army, so that they said to one another, "Behold, the king of Israel has hired against us the kings of the Hittites and the kings of Egypt to come against us."
ERVEN : The Lord had caused the Aramean army to hear the sound of chariots, horses, and a large army. So the Aramean soldiers said to each other, "The king of Israel has hired the kings of the Hittites and Egyptians to come against us."

BNV : তাই অরামীয়রা সেদিন বিকেল-বিকেলই তাঁবু, ঘোড়া, গাধা সব কিছু পেছনে ফেলেই প্রাণের দাযে পালিয়ে গেল|
KJV : Wherefore they arose and fled in the twilight, and left their tents, and their horses, and their asses, even the camp as it [was,] and fled for their life.
YLT : And they rise and flee in the twilight, and forsake their tents, and their horses, and their asses -- the camp as it [is] -- and flee for their life.

ERVEN : The Arameans ran away early that evening. They left everything behind. They left their tents, horses, and donkeys and ran for their lives.

BNV : তারপর শএুশিবিরে এসে কুষ্ঠরোগীরা একটা তাঁবুতে ঢুকে প্রাণভরে খাওয়া-দাওয়া করল| তারপর চারজন মিলে তাঁবু থেকে সোনা, রূপো, পোশাক-আশাক বের করে নিয়ে সে সব লুকিয়ে রাখল| তারপর চার জন আরেকটা তাঁবু থেকেও এই ভাবে জিনিসপত্র সরানোর পর বলাবলি করল,
KJV : And when these lepers came to the uttermost part of the camp, they went into one tent, and did eat and drink, and carried thence silver, and gold, and raiment, and went and hid [it;] and came again, and entered into another tent, and carried thence [also,] and went and hid [it. ]
YLT : And these lepers come in unto the extremity of the camp, and come in unto one tent, and eat, and drink, and lift up thence silver, and gold, and garments, and go and hide; and they turn back and go in unto another tent, and lift up thence, and go and hide.
RV : And when these lepers came to the outermost part of the camp, they went into one tent, and did eat and drink, and carried thence silver, and gold, and raiment, and went and hid it; and they came back, and entered into another tent, and carried thence also, and went and hid it.

ERVEN : When these lepers came to where the camp began, they went into one tent. They ate and drank. Then they carried silver, gold, and clothes out of the camp and hid them. Then they came back and entered another tent. They carried things out from this tent and went out and hid them.

BNV : “আমরা খুব অন্যায করছি| এতো বড় একটা সুখবর পাওয়ার পরেও আমরা চুপচাপ আছি| আমরা যদি এভাবে সূর্য়াস্ত পর্য়ন্ত খবরটা চেপে থাকি, আমাদের শাস্তি পেতে হবে| এখন চলো গিয়ে রাজবাড়ীর লোকদের খবরটা দেওয়া যাক|”
KJV : Then they said one to another, We do not well: this day [is] a day of good tidings, and we hold our peace: if we tarry till the morning light, some mischief will come upon us: now therefore come, that we may go and tell the king’s household.
YLT : And they say one unto another, `We are not doing right this day; a day of tidings it [is], and we are keeping silent; and -- we have waited till the light of the morning, then hath punishment found us; and now, come and we go in and declare to the house of the king.`
RV : Then they said one to another, We do not well: this day is a day of good tidings, and we hold our peace: if we tarry till the morning light, punishment will overtake us: now therefore come, let us go and tell the king-s household.
RSV : Then they said to one another, "We are not doing right. This day is a day of good news; if we are silent and wait until the morning light, punishment will overtake us; now therefore come, let us go and tell the king's household."

ERVEN : Then they said to each other, "We are doing wrong! Today we have good news, but we are silent. If we wait until the sun comes up, we will be punished. Now let's go and tell the people who live in the king's palace."

BNV : এই কুষ্ঠরোগীরা তখন এসে শহরের প্রহরীদের ডাকাডাকি শুরু করল| তারা প্রহরীদের বলল, “আমরা অরামীয়দের শিবিরে গিয়েছিলাম, কিন্তু সেখানে কাউকে দেখতে পেলাম না| এমন কি কারো কোন সাড়া-শব্দ অবধি পেলাম না| কোন লোক জন সেখানে নেই| কিন্তু তাঁবুর ভেতরে ঘোড়া, গাধা য়েমনকার তেমন বাঁধা আছে| অথচ লোক জন কেউ নেই, সব ফাঁকা|”
KJV : So they came and called unto the porter of the city: and they told them, saying, We came to the camp of the Syrians, and, behold, [there was] no man there, neither voice of man, but horses tied, and asses tied, and the tents as they [were. ]
YLT : And they come in, and call unto the gatekeeper of the city, and declare for themselves, saying, `We have come in unto the camp of Aram, and lo, there is not there a man, or sound of man, but the bound horse, and the bound ass, and tents as they [are].`
RV : So they came and called unto the porter of the city: and they told them, saying, We came to the camp of the Syrians, and, behold, there was no man there, neither voice of man, but the horses tied, and the asses tied, and the tents as they were.
RSV : So they came and called to the gatekeepers of the city, and told them, "We came to the camp of the Syrians, and behold, there was no one to be seen or heard there, nothing but the horses tied, and the asses tied, and the tents as they were."

ESV : So they came and called to the gatekeepers of the city and told them, "We came to the camp of the Syrians, and behold, there was no one to be seen or heard there, nothing but the horses tied and the donkeys tied and the tents as they were."
ERVEN : So the lepers came and called to the gatekeepers of the city. They told the gatekeepers, "We went to the Aramean camp, but we did not hear anyone. No one was there, but the horses and donkeys were still tied up, and the tents were still standing."

BNV : প্রহরীরা তখন চেঁচিয়ে রাজবাড়ীর লোকদের এখবর দিল|
KJV : And he called the porters; and they told [it] to the king’s house within.
YLT : and he calleth the gatekeepers, and they declare to the house of the king within.

ERVEN : Then the gatekeepers of the city shouted out and told the people in the king's palace.

BNV : কিন্তু তখন রাত্রি| রাজামশাই বিছানা ছেড়ে উঠে সেনাপতিদের বললেন, “আমি অরামীয় সেনাদের মতলবটা বুঝতে পেরেছি| ওরা জানে আমরা খুবই ক্ষুধার্ত| তাই তাঁবু ফাঁকা করে ঘাপটি মেরে মাঠে লুকিয়ে ভাবছে, ‘ইস্রায়েলীয়রা শহর থেকে এসে হানা দিলেই ওদের জ্য়ান্ত পাকড়াবো| তখন আবার আমাদের পিছু হটতে হবে|”‘
KJV : And the king arose in the night, and said unto his servants, I will now shew you what the Syrians have done to us. They know that we [be] hungry; therefore are they gone out of the camp to hide themselves in the field, saying, When they come out of the city, we shall catch them alive, and get into the city.
YLT : And the king riseth by night, and saith unto his servants, `Let me declare, I pray you, to you that which the Aramaeans have done to us; they have known that we are famished, and they are gone out from the camp to be hidden in the field, saying, When they come out from the city, then we catch them alive, and unto the city we enter.`
RV : And the king arose in the night, and said unto his servants, I will now shew you what the Syrians have done to us. They know that we be hungry; therefore are they gone out of the camp to hide themselves in the field, saying, When they come out of the city, we shall take them alive, and get into the city.

They know that we are hungry; therefore are they gone out of the camp to hide themselves in the field, saying, When they come out of the city, we shall take them alive, and get into the city.
ESV : And the king rose in the night and said to his servants, "I will tell you what the Syrians have done to us. They know that we are hungry. Therefore they have gone out of the camp to hide themselves in the open country, thinking, 'When they come out of the city, we shall take them alive and get into the city.'"
ERVEN : It was night, but the king got up from bed and said to his officers, "I will tell you what the Aramean soldiers are doing to us. They know we are hungry. They left the camp to hide in the field. They are thinking, 'When the Israelites come out of the city, we will capture them alive. And then we will enter the city.'"

BNV : রাজার এক জন সেনাপতি বলল, “পাঁচটা ঘোড়া নিয়ে গিয়ে কয়েক জন ব্যাপারটা সরেজমিনে দেখেই আসুক না! ঐ পাঁচটা ঘোড়া তো আমাদের মতোই শেষ অবধি না খেযে মরবে| কিন্তু আসল কথাটা জানা দরকার|”
KJV : And one of his servants answered and said, Let [some] take, I pray thee, five of the horses that remain, which are left in the city, (behold, they [are] as all the multitude of Israel that are left in it: behold, [I say,] they [are] even as all the multitude of the Israelites that are consumed:) and let us send and see.
YLT : And one of his servants answereth and saith, `Then let them take, I pray thee, five of the horses that are left, that have been left in it -- lo, they [are] as all the multitude of Israel who have been left in it; lo, they are as all the multitude of Israel who have been consumed -- and we send and see.`
RV : And one of his servants answered and said, Let some take, I pray thee, five of the horses that remain, which are left in the city, (behold, they are as all the multitude of Israel that are left in it; behold, they are as all the multitude of Israel that are consumed:) and let us send and see.
RSV : And one of his servants said, "Let some men take five of the remaining horses, seeing that those who are left here will fare like the whole multitude of Israel that have already perished; let us send and see."
ASV : And one of his servants answered and said, Let some take, I pray thee, five of the horses that remain, which are left in the city (behold, they are as all the multitude of Israel that are left in it; behold, they are as all the multitude of Israel that are consumed); and let us send and see.
ESV : And one of his servants said, "Let some men take five of the remaining horses, seeing that those who are left here will fare like the whole multitude of Israel who have already perished. Let us send and see."
ERVEN : One of the king's officers said, "Let some men take five of the horses that are still left in the city. The horses will soon die anyway, just as all the Israelites who are still left in the city. Let's send these men to see what happened."

BNV : তারা ঘোড়াসহ দুটি রথ বেছে নিল এবং রাজা তাদের অরামীয় সৈন্যবাহিনীর পরে পাঠালেন| তিনি বললেন, “যাও, দেখে এসো কি হয়েছে|”
KJV : They took therefore two chariot horses; and the king sent after the host of the Syrians, saying, Go and see.
YLT : And they take two chariot-horses, and the king sendeth after the camp of Aram, saying, `Go, and see.`
RV : They took therefore two chariots with horses; and the king sent after the host of the Syrians, saying, Go and see.
RSV : So they took two mounted men, and the king sent them after the army of the Syrians, saying, "Go and see."
ASV : They took therefore two chariots with horses; and the king sent after the host of the Syrians, saying, Go and see.
ESV : So they took two horsemen, and the king sent them after the army of the Syrians, saying, "Go and see."
ERVEN : So the men took two chariots with horses. The king sent these men after the Aramean army. He told them, "Go and see what happened."

BNV : এরা যর্দন নদীর তীর পর্য়ন্ত অরামীয় সেনাদের সন্ধানে গিয়ে দেখল, সারাটা পথে জামাকাপড় আর অস্ত্র শস্ত্র ছড়িয়ে আছে| তাড়াহুড়ো করে পালানোর সময় অরামীয় সেনারা এই সমস্ত জিনিস ফেলে গেছে|
KJV : And they went after them unto Jordan: and, lo, all the way [was] full of garments and vessels, which the Syrians had cast away in their haste. And the messengers returned, and told the king.
YLT : And they go after them unto the Jordan, and lo, all the way is full of garments and vessels that the Aramaeans have cast away in their haste, and the messengers turn back and declare to the king.
RV : And they went after them unto Jordan: and, lo, all the way was full of garments and vessels, which the Syrians had cast away in their haste. And the messengers returned, and told the king.

ERVEN : The men went after the Aramean army as far as the Jordan River. All along the road there were clothes and weapons. The Arameans had thrown these things down when they hurried away. The messengers went back to Samaria and told the king.

BNV : সকলের জন্যই অপর্য়াপ্ত জিনিসপত্র ছড়িয়ে আছে| ঠিক য়েন প্রভু য়েমনটি বলেছিলেন, ‘এক পয়সায় এক টুক্রি মিহি মযদা আর দু-টুক্রি য়বের গুঁড়ো পাওয়া যাবে!’

ERVEN : Then the people ran out to the Aramean camp and took valuable things from there. So it happened just as the Lord had said. A person could buy a basket of fine flour or two baskets of barley for only one shekel.

KJV : And the king appointed the lord on whose hand he leaned to have the charge of the gate: and the people trode upon him in the gate, and he died, as the man of God had said, who spake when the king came down to him.

ERVEN : There was one officer who always stayed close by the king to help him. The king sent this officer to guard the gate, but the people knocked him down and trampled him, and he died. So everything happened just as the man of God had said when the king came to Elisha's house.

BNV : ইলীশায় বলেছিলেন, “য়ে কোন ব্যক্তি শমরিয়ার প্রবেশদ্বারে বাজার থেকে এক শেকলে এক ঝুড়ি মিহি মযদা অথবা দুই ঝুড়ি য়ব কিনতে পারে|”
KJV : And it came to pass as the man of God had spoken to the king, saying, Two measures of barley for a shekel, and a measure of fine flour for a shekel, shall be to morrow about this time in the gate of Samaria:

BNV : কিন্তু ঐ আধিকারিক ঈশ্বরের লোককে উত্তর দিল, “এমনকি প্রভু যদি স্বর্গে জানালা তৈরী করেন, তবু এ ঘটনা ঘটবে না!” এবং ইলীশায় আধিকারিককে বললেন, “তুমি তোমার নিজের চোখে দেখবে, কিন্তু ঐ খাবার তুমি খাবে না|”

ERVEN : But that officer had answered the man of God, "Even if the Lord made windows in heaven, this could not happen!" And Elisha had told the officer, "You will see it with your own eyes, but you will not eat any of that food."
